Swap of ticket punchers for Smart phone apps

Amtrak, the government-owned corporation that provides passenger train service across the United States, has begun a program let conductors use iPhones with special software to check tickets, The New York Timesreports. Previously, the ticket-checking process was cumbersome and time consuming, to say the least. After the ticket was hole-punched, it was sent to a central location to be scanned and entered into a database. But the iPhone-based system will allow conductors to scan paper or smartphone tickets to allow for real-time monitoring of the passenger count. The full article can be... Read the Rest →

Tickee now available on WordPress!

Well yes, we just released our WordPress Widget plugin. With only 1 line of code, the tickee shop Widget allows you to integrate your ticket sales directly into your favorite WordPress site.   You can create both a general overview as event-based widgets, by adding the event id directly on your page or post. Very simple, as it should be.   Check the working example on this page.

Say ‘no’ to Internet Explorer and save $100K

It’s not every day that you start a business and quickly decide to say “no” to 70 percent of your potential customers. In retrospect, this turned out to be 4ormat’s secret weapon. Studio Volante was incredible!

Last night, tickee endured it’s first Real Life Stress-test. We managed more than 2500 tickets, on 3 different locations, with 6 devices synced simultaneously. And we pulled it off flawless.   A big cheers is in order for the Charlatan and Decadance, for putting their confidence in tickee. Merci!

Closed Beta!

We’re proud to announce our next stage: Closed Beta. We have the opportunity to service Studio Volanté as first closed beta project. All is set and ready to go! Studio Volanté is the new years eve party of Studio Brussel, the biggest and immensely popular alternative radio station of Belgium. The event will be hosted from 3 different locations, so this adds a new level of challenges we’re looking forward to.   We’re almost in public beta now, so stay tuned for the release of the REAL tickee!

Alpha stage

tickee has entered alpha stage! We are proud to service “Bal van de Gevallen Engelen” as test case (an annual event hosting about 1600 peoples), and everything is so ready for it. The party is located in one of the most magnificent old church-areas of Belgium.

What? Who? Let’s look around in the cloud and be inspired, shall we? A couple of years back, WordPress wasn’t the most known or succesfull o.s. Blog Software around. This post gives some nice insights on how to campaign against a predecessor:   www.majordojo.com/2011/02/how-did-wordpress-win.php   Excerpt:   Automattic’s Switch Campaign One thing rarely cited by the outside world, probably because it was not visible or apparent to anyone, was the systematic targeting of high profile brands to switch from using any competing platform to using WordPress. In fact, in the... Read the Rest →
